Drug Uses
Imodium is used for curing and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and reducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It can also be used for other conditions as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Take Imodium as prescribed by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a food intake. It is advised to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Don't use for more than [[two|2] days unless directed by a physician.
Additional Information
Imodium can cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Imodium with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, consult with your doctor. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take less or more or take it more often than advised by your doctor.
