Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for curing nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin can also be used for other condition as suggested by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Neurontin as prescribed by your physician. Take Neurontin with or without a meal. Do not take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before you take Neurontin. Do not suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You can have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new drug, your physician will gradually lower your dosage.

Neurontin may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Neurontin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly negative tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, consult your doctor. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your physician.
