Drug Uses
Methotrexate is used for curing of ertain types of cancer, severe psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis in certain patients. It may be used alone or with other medicines. It can also be used for other situations as suggested by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Methotrexate as suggested by your physician. Take Methotrexate with or without a meal. However, you should take it the same way each time in relation to food. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Methotrexate. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. Do not stop taking Methotrexate without talking to with your doctor. Methotrexate works best if each dosage is taken at the scheduled time.
Additional Information
Methotrexate may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects can worsen if Methotrexate is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Methotrexate with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, notify your doctor. Methotrexate should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Do not use
less or more or use it more often than recommended by your physician.
