Diflucan is used for handling Vaginal candidiasis (vaginal yeast infections due to Candida), Oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, Cryptococcal meningitis. Diflucan is also used to lower the incidence of candidiasis in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
Diflucan comes as a capsule and liquid to take in orally. Usually Diflucan is taken once a day. The liquid should be shaken well before each use to mix the drug evenly. Continue to take this drug even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Diflucan without consulting with your doctor. Follow your physician`s prescriptions attentively. Do not take more of this medication or take it for a longer period of time than advised. Ask you doctor for more detailed information if needed.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Diflucan. They both can affect the liver. Be careful when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities.
