Drug Uses
Imodium is used for curing and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and decreasing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other situations as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Imodium as recommended by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a food intake. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Don't take for more than [[two|2] days unless determined by a physician.
Additional Information
Imodium can cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Imodium with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, consult with your physician. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
