Drug Uses
Erythromycin is used for healing of infections caused by certain bacteria. It is also used to prevent bacterial endocarditis and attacks of rheumatic fever. It may also be used for other conditions as suggested by your physician.
How Taken
Take Erythromycin as suggested by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Erythromycin with a meal. Swallow Erythromycin whole. Don't break, crush, or chew before swallowing. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you use Erythromycin. This product works best if taken at the same times each day. To clear up your infection completely, take Erythromycin for the full course of treatment. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
Additional Information
If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, contact your physician. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
