Furosemide is used for healing of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disease. It is also used in combination with other pills to cure fluid build-up in the lungs. Itcan also be used for other situations as suggested by your doctor.
Take Furosemide as prescribed by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide may increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dosage before 6 pm (18:00).
Furosemide may cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Furosemide with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
