Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for treatment of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for curing nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin may also be used for other situation as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Take Neurontin as advised by your doctor. Use Neurontin with or without a meal. Don't take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within two hours before you take Neurontin. Do not suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You may have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new pill, your physician will gradually lower your dose.
Additional Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Neurontin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, notify your physician. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Don't take less or more or take it more often than advised by your physician.
