Drug Uses
Imodium is used for curing and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and reducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other situations as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Take Imodium as recommended by your doctor. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Do not use for more than [[two|2] days unless directed by a physician.
More Information
Imodium can cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Imodium with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, consult with your doctor. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
