Drug Uses
Methotrexate is used for healing of ertain types of cancer, severe psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis in certain patients. It may be used alone or with other pills. It may also be used for other conditions as directed by your physician.
How Taken
Use Methotrexate as prescribed by your doctor. Take Methotrexate with or without a meal. However, you should take it the same way each time in relation to food. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Methotrexate. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. Don't stop taking Methotrexate without visiting with your doctor. Methotrexate works best if each dosage is taken at the scheduled time.
Additional Information
Methotrexate can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects can worsen if Methotrexate is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Methotrexate with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, ask your doctor. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Do not use
less or more or take it more often than suggested by your doctor.
