Crestor is used to control the level of cholesterol and blood pressure in patients with primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipidemia. This pill is only effective when used along with certain diet.
Crestor comes in pills to be taken by mouth with or without food. Usual dosage is 10mg - 40mg once a day.
You may need a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during healing or you may not be able to take this product at all if you have kidney or liver infection or if you have gastrointestinal problems. Crestor interact with the following products- phenytoin (Dilantin); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); tolbutamide (Orinase); torsemide (Demadex); fluvastatin (Lescol); a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, ardeparin (Normiflo), dalteparin (Fragmin), danaparoid (Orgaran), enoxaparin (Lovenox), or tinzaparin (Innohep); (Activase), anistreplase (Eminase), dipyridamole (Persantine), streptokinase (Kabikinase, Streptase), ticlopidine (Ticlid), and urokinase (Abbokinase). Patients taking the above mentioned drugs should contact a doctor concerning the dosage and possibility of Crestor usage.
