Imodium is used for curing and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and decreasing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It can also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Take Imodium as directed by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Don't take for more than [[two|2] days unless directed by a doctor.
Imodium may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects can worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Imodium with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your physician. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
