Drug Uses
Imodium is used for treating and controlling diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, and reducing the volume of discharge from an ileostomy (a surgical opening in the wall of the intestines). It may also be used for other conditions as prescribed by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Imodium as determined by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Imodium with a meal. It is suggested to drink extra fluids while you are taking Imodium and while you have diarrhea. Don't use for more than [[two|2] days unless determined by a physician.
More Information
Imodium may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may worsen if Imodium is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Imodium with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. This medicine should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than determined by your physician.
