The Puppeteers of America are raising funds to have the Puppetry Journal digitized and made available to the public in digital form. Currently journals published prior to 1981 only exists in hard copy. This makes them inaccessible to most and in danger of being lost forever as very few complete collections currently exists and those that do are owned by private collectors.
The Puppetry Journal is the largest on going body of work that offers a detailed picture of America Puppetry. It is an invaluable tool for researchers, educators, puppeteers, designers, dramaturges, writers and anyone interested in America’s contributions to the art of puppetry. Digitizing the journal will make this informational accessible for all and insure our legacy is preserved for all generations to come.
The Puppeteers of America has pledged a matching grant for this project up to $2,000, so every dollar you give will go twice as far. We plan to have volume 1 available for purchase at the 2015 festival which will include all journals produce from 1949-1990. Please donate today and be a part of history.
Your contribution can be made in increments of $10.00. If you add three units to your shopping cart you have given $30.00. If you add 5 units to your shopping cart, you have made a donation of $50.00, etc., etc.
All donors will be listed in a special document included in the collection.
