Dear Fellow Puppeteers and puppet enthusiasts:
2013 National Festival Update
Over 400 puppeteers from around the world and thousands of members of the public will meet on the campus of Swarthmore College from August 5-10, 2013.
We want you to be one of them.
Reminder: There are only a few days left to submit an application to perform, lead a workshop or fill a staff position at the next National Festival! May 31, 2012 is the extended deadline for Puppet Festival (r)Evolution, the 2013 National Festival of the Puppeteers of America. YOU CAN DO IT! We make it easy for you – check it out: PuppetFestivalRevolution
If you don’t intend to apply, but know someone who should, encourage them to take part. Remember: the next chance to get noticed at a National Festival won’t come until 2015.
Everything anyone needs to apply is on this site: PuppetFestivalRevolution.org
(If you have questions, see “We’ll answer the phone,” below).
International Performers are coming (fingers crossed!)
Thanks to the efforts of UNIMA-USA, led by Irina Niculescu, UNIMA-USA’s liaison to the Puppeteers of America, Puppet Festival (r)Evolution’s Artistic Direction Committee has received a list of the puppet companies around the world who have been identified as the best of the best, and we’re sending out invitations to them to perform at the Festival. Since it takes such a long time to work out the details, including artists’ visas for the US, we won’t be able to announce who’s coming until everything is confirmed.
If you want to stay informed about the latest developments, sign up from email alerts here.
