We have three hours to make a sock puppet each to take home! Can it be done? Stranger things have happened at sea (and Puppet Festivals); so, let’s give it a shot!
All participants will receive a pair of socks, but feel free to bring some of your own too! Fluffy socks make for some really appealing puppets. In this fun workshop I will show examples of sock puppets I have created, and hand out templates for mouth patterns that I designed. You get to pick a mouth shape, cut it out, and assemble it using our friends, the hot glue guns. Glue it into the puppet’s mouth…and our fingers…maybe our legs – be careful with the hot glue!! One sock will make the body, and another can be used to add arms, legs, a tail or other appendage. We will finish with beads, baubles and trinkets to give them faces, and ultimately – life! Mwahahaha!
If you have a collection of fun trinkets like beads (that can be used for eyeballs), colored felt, feathers, pipe cleaners or something else zany – bring them too and add to the pile. We will make some mischief. Materials Fee: $6.00
